Description: The Charles B. Keesee Educational Fund desires to award scholarships to students interested in pursuing Baptist ministry after their time at The College at Southeastern. The Keesee Fund is open to undergraduate students who are residents of NC, SC, GA, TN, KY, WV or VA and have lived there for 12 months prior to any schooling in the states listed above. Applicants must be a rising junior or senior and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. This scholarship has potential to award students up to $4,000 per academic year. Students must reapply each year to receive the grant for a maximum of 2 years. Students are allowed to be enrolled in two online courses per semester.

The following majors are acceptable for the application: Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Biblical Studies, Pastoral Ministry, Theology, Worship Leadership or Global Studies OR Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies with a minor in Biblical Studies, Pastoral Ministry, Missions, Global Studies, Preaching or Theology.

Moral character, academic achievement and financial need are considered among other credentials. Award is only provided to full-time students. While no award is guaranteed, the minimum award given to an awarded student is $500. The maximum possible award is $2,500.

Description: Applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a North Carolina resident as well as an N.C. resident for tuition purposes, as defined by the N.C. Residency Manual
  • Be enrolled as an undergraduate student in at least 9 credit hours at a qualifying private North Carolina campus
  • Demonstrate a certain level of financial need based on calculated
  • Students do not have to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) multiple times in the same year. When the student submits their FAFSA® for Pell grants, the same application will be used to determine their NC Need Based Scholarship eligibility.

*Students are fully responsible for meeting the requirements of the scholarship.That includes but is not limited to successfully/accurately completing FAFSA® each year, submitting all verification documents in a timely manner, and completing any requested corrections. Failing to do so may result in losing the full amount of the award.
