Mission Scholarships

Students serving as active missionaries or personnel for the Company may be eligible to receive a scholarship covering 100% of their tuition and fees.

This Scholarship is also available to students who are employed full-time with the Company.

Eligibility

The student must be a full-time, fully funded Company missionary/personnel currently assigned on the mission field or stateside or a full-time employee with the Company.

Additional Requirements:

• Eligible students must be degree-seeking undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral students.
• If the student loses employment status with the Company, he or she will no longer be eligible for the scholarship in subsequent semesters.
• Students who wish to pursue multiple master’s degrees will only be eligible to receive the Company Scholarship for classes taken to complete their first master’s degree at Southeastern.

Students serving as active personnel for the North American Mission Board (NAMB) may be eligible to receive a scholarship covering 30% (Advanced degree) or 50% (Undergraduate and Graduate degrees) of their tuition and fees.

Eligibility

The student must be a full-time NAMB missionary/personnel, fully funded by NAMB and currently serving on a field assignment.

Endorsed chaplains and missionaries serving through their state convention or church are not eligible for the Active NAMB scholarship.

Additional Requirements:

• If the student receives other internal or external scholarships, the Active NAMB scholarship will be reduced to cover 30% or 50% of the tuition and fees.
• Recipients must be degree-seeking undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral students.
• If the student loses employment status with the NAMB, he or she will no longer be eligible for the scholarship in subsequent semesters.
• Students who wish to pursue multiple master’s degrees will only be eligible to receive the Active NAMB Scholarship for classes taken to complete their first master’s degree at Southeastern.

Children of qualifying Company or NAMB missionaries may be eligible for a scholarship covering 100% of their tuition and fees.

Children of retired Company missionaries can receive a scholarship covering 25% of their tuition and fees.

For Company MK applicants, the student’s parents must be active full-time Company employees (Staff or Field).

For Active NAMB MK applicants, the student’s parents must be a full-time NAMB missionary/personnel, fully funded by NAMB and currently serving on a field assignment. Children of endorsed NAMB chaplains may also qualify for this scholarship.

Children of endorsed missionaries serving through their state convention or church do not qualify.

Additional Requirements:

• Recipients must be 30-years-of-age or younger upon beginning their degree at the College.
• Recipients must be degree-seeking undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral students.
• Recipients must be active and participating members of a local Southern Baptist church.
• Recipients must be enrolled full-time each semester (12+ credit hours).

Please note: *Current MK recipients whose parents retired with the Company (non-VRI) will maintain their MK scholarship for the duration of their degree. Incoming students, whose parents are retired Company personnel, will receive a 25% tuition scholarship in addition to the SBC rate. Eligible students must reapply each academic year.
