A Week to Remember: House System Celebrates Heritage Week

On October 26-28, The College at Southeastern hosted its annual heritage week as house system students led the celebration with organized events and displays of house spirit. Honoring the legacy of their house founders, students learned about their rich Christian heritage while celebrating their house values and campus community.

“I love heritage week because it is a time for the house system to come together and remember the missionaries of the faith that their houses represent while also enjoying time of fellowship as college,” commented Chloe Farley, house system and discipleship supervisor for The College. “Remembering the legacy of these missionaries and celebrating the community of the house system is always such an impactful and encouraging time.”

On Thursday, students wore house colors and swag, competing to win the spirit day competition. That evening, houses gathered for prayer on the steps of Binkley Chapel, thanking God for their heritage and praying that he would continue to bless their houses and use them to advance the cause of Christ.

Continuing the celebration, students enjoyed a time of games and fellowship on Friday afternoon for their fall festival on the quad in front of Goldston Hall. Concluding the week, houses hosted individual events on Saturday to deepen community in the house and celebrate their house values and the legacies of their founders.
