Prison Programs

Why do we exist?

We believe that we are called to participate in the mission of God by proclaiming the hope of the gospel into every sphere of society. We exist to train and disciple incarcerated men and women to become ambassadors for Christ and fulfill in the Great Commission in their context.

Nash County Extension Center

The North Carolina Field Minister Program (NCFMP) offers the Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry with a secondary emphasis on counseling. This degree is the same degree offered at the main campus in Wake Forest, NC. The College at Southeastern began offering this degree in August 2017 at the newly established Nash County Extension Center (NCEC).

Wake County Extension Center

The mission of the WCEC program at NCCIW is to equip and educate incarcerated women to lead and serve in whatever they do, wherever they are. We want students to contribute to their families and society in a positive way whether they are working post-release, receiving more education, or continuing to serve their sentence at NCCIW.

Our Goal

Our goal is to provide training and discipleship to a group of people that rarely get attention. We want to train men of faith to be transformative in the prison culture from the inside out. Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts in pastoral ministry and counseling, graduates will be grouped into teams and sent out to various prisons in the state, where they can hold a range of responsibilities in the prison. These can include providing a wider range of counseling services, mentoring newly incarcerated people, tutoring, crisis ministry, and community service ministry.

How You Can Help

Prison Programs provides resources for training incarcerated students by delivering a rigorous, liberal arts education rooted in a Judeo-Christian worldview. As students study, expand their knowledge, and are prepared for service it can increase the long-term impact on both individual lives and the system of North Carolina. When you give, you are equipping people to lead and serve in whatever they do, wherever they are.
